Dorothy Wagers

October 31, 1923 - October 10, 2014

Dorothy Wagers was born in Fairbury, Nebraska on October 31, 1923, to Glen and Anna Smith. She was the youngest of three. As a young adult, she moved to Salem, OR and met Ralph Wagers. They married, and soon after, moved to Santa Barbara, CA. Ralph graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography and bought a studio in San Luis Obispo, CA. Dorothy managed the business and was the portrait colorist. In 1965, they moved back to Salem and started in the RV business. In 1969, they formed Wagers Trailer Sales which still operates to this day.

Dorothy was artistic and an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home and taking cruises. She and ralph traveled extensively during their lives and visited every continent except Antarctica.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Karen Michalski of Beaverton, Oregon. She will be interred next to Ralph at Willamette National Cemetery. She had requested no service or ceremony. Karen requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a favorite charity or the Humane Society of the Willamette Valley in Dorothy’s name. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
